Gravetye Manor Hotel
Gravetye Manor, an Elizabethan stone mansion, was built in 1598 by Richard
Infield for his wife Katherine. Over the centuries Gravetye knew prosperity
- and neglect. Part of 'Smuggler's Lane' in the grounds is a reminder
that for some years the house was a hideout for smugglers and probably
a store for their contraband.
